The Hummingbird Necklace is a 14K gold filled hummingbird held by a 14K gold filled 20 inch chain. The bird has a minimal design and is super cute! This piece feels substantial in hand and when worn. The finished piece comes in a gift box.

- Hummingbird measures 1 inch (top to bottom) by 1 inches (width)
- Chain is 14K Gold filled and has a length of 20 inches

Each component of this necklace is 14K Gold Filled. There is a lot out there on gold filled vs. vermeil vs. gold plated. After much research and speaking with those in the industry, gold-filled seemed to come out on top consistently. Gold filled jewelry is a bit more expensive due to the way it's made (a core metal is sandwiched between layers of gold alloy) and the fact that it has more real gold. This higher percentage of gold and it's manufacturing process allows gold-filled jewelry to have a much longer lifespan than vermeil or gold-plated jewelry, especially when they are well taken care of.
Take care to keep your jewelry out of water. Take off before baths/showers, swimming, and if they get wet, be sure to dry them! Though they may be okay getting wet, keeping them dry and clean will allow for a much longer lifespan.
